De La Soul - 3 Feet High And Rising (Vinyl LP | DE Original | 1989)

De La Soul – 3 Feet High And Rising is the debut album by the trio of Posdnuos, Trugoy the Dove and Maseo from Amityville, Long Island. Produced by Prince Paul with the group and recorded at Calliope Studios in New York, it was released on February 6, 1989 on Tommy Boy. With samples from Steely Dan to Hall & Oates, game show skits and the "D.A.I.S.Y. Age" motto (Da Inner Sound, Y'all), it offered a playful alternative to gangsta rap; it reached No. 1 on the US R&B/Hip-Hop chart and went platinum in the US and UK. This copy is the 1989 German first pressing on BCM Records (33195) with the printed original inner sleeve.
