Description

George Duke – The Inner Source is a double album by keyboardist George Duke on MPS Records (cat. no. 29 20912-1), released in 1973. It was recorded in 1971 at Wally Heider Studios in San Francisco and produced by Baldhard G. Falk; the two LPs were originally planned as separate albums titled "Solus" and "The Inner Source". Duke plays piano, Rhodes and Wurlitzer, partly in a trio with John Heard and Dick Berk, partly with horn players such as Jerome Richardson and Luis Gasca. This copy is the 1973 German original pressing in a gatefold sleeve.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
Yes. This is the 1973 German first edition on MPS, cat. no. 29 20912-1, in a gatefold sleeve. Later reissues followed from 1976 onwards.

Why is it a double album?
The 1971 recordings were originally meant for two separate LPs ("Solus" and "The Inner Source"). MPS released them together as a double album in 1973.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) for the record means close to new with at most minimal signs of use. VG+ (Very Good Plus) for the sleeve means light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more George Duke records?
Yes, for example George Duke – Faces In Reflection, also on MPS, or George Duke – A Brazilian Love Affair. More titles are in our Fusion collection.
