Description

The Dave Brubeck Quartet – Time Out is the Dave Brubeck Quartet's best-known album, recorded in June, July and August 1959 at Columbia's 30th Street Studio in New York, produced by Teo Macero and released by Columbia in December 1959. It explores time signatures that were unusual in jazz at the time, such as 9/8 and 5/4. Paul Desmond's “Take Five” became a hit, and Time Out was the first jazz album to sell over a million copies. This copy is a 1971 US stereo reissue on Columbia (CS 8192).
