FAQ

What is the difference between disco and Italo disco?
Classic disco emerged in the US in the mid-70s – with a four-on-the-floor beat, strings, horns and a live band. Italo disco came from Italy in the early 80s and relies more on synthesizers, drum machines and vocoders, usually with English lyrics.

Why are so many disco hits on 12" maxi singles?
The 12" maxi single became popular with DJs in the 70s: it has room for long extended mixes and usually plays at 45 rpm, giving more volume and dynamics in the club.

How do you grade the condition?
Every used record is checked by hand and graded to the Goldmine standard, with vinyl (media) and sleeve (cover) graded separately. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Are the images photos of the actual record?
Yes. We scan every record ourselves – used and new. For used records you get exactly the copy shown.
