FAQ

What is the difference between soul and funk?
Soul emerged in the late 50s from gospel and rhythm & blues and is driven by expressive vocals. Funk grew out of it in the 60s – above all through James Brown – and puts the groove first: syncopated bass lines, tight guitars and horns, often with the emphasis on the one.

How do you grade the condition?
Every used record is checked by hand and graded to the Goldmine standard, with vinyl (media) and sleeve (cover) graded separately. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Are the images photos of the actual record?
Yes. We scan every record ourselves – used and new. For used records you get exactly the copy shown.
