Description

Airto – Identity is an album by Brazilian percussionist and drummer Airto Moreira, released in 1975 on Arista (cat. no. AL 4068). He produced it together with Herbie Hancock, who also plays synthesizer; it was recorded in Los Angeles, including at the Record Plant and Wally Heider Studios. His main partner is Egberto Gismonti, who co-wrote several pieces, joined by Wayne Shorter on saxophone, Raul de Souza on trombone and Flora Purim on vocals. The music blends Brazilian rhythms such as baião with jazz-funk and fusion. This copy is the 1975 US original pressing with Arista inner sleeve.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
Yes. This is the 1975 US first edition on Arista with catalogue number AL 4068 and Arista inner sleeve.

What does CO / cut-out on the sleeve mean?
Retailers marked records sold off cheaply as remainders with a punch or notch in the sleeve. The record itself is not affected.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) for the record means close to new with at most minimal signs of use. VG+ (Very Good Plus) for the sleeve means light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Airto records?
Yes, for example Airto – Promises Of The Sun and Flora Purim's Open Your Eyes You Can Fly. More titles are in our Jazz and Latin collections.
