Description

Klaus Doldinger – Jubilee is a 3-LP retrospective of saxophonist Klaus Doldinger, first issued by Atlantic in 1973 under cat. no. ATL 3-60073. Compiled by Siegfried E. Loch, it collects recordings from 1955 to 1973 that originally appeared on other labels: from the Dixieland of the Feetwarmers via the Klaus Doldinger Quartet and the NDR Jazz Workshop to the beat and soul projects Paul Nero Sounds and Motherhood, and Passport. Some originally mono recordings were electronically spread to stereo for this set. This copy is a German reissue pressed by Record Service Alsdorf, in a gatefold sleeve.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No. The first edition came out in 1973. This record is a later German reissue with the same catalogue number, pressed by Record Service Alsdorf; the pressing year is not stated on this edition.

What does Media VG+ / Cover VG mean?
Media VG+ (Very Good Plus) means light signs of wear that barely affect playback or the overall look. Cover VG (Very Good) means clear signs of use; on a record some surface noise is possible, on a sleeve e.g. ring wear or edge wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Which phases of Doldinger's career does the set cover?
Across its six sides it runs from the Feetwarmers' Dixieland in the fifties through sixties modern jazz to beat, soul and jazz-rock with Paul Nero Sounds, Motherhood and Passport in the early seventies.

Do you have more Klaus Doldinger records?
Yes, for example Klaus Doldinger – Doldinger (2LP), Doldinger's Motherhood – Motherhood and Passport – Second Passport. More titles are in our Jazz-Rock collection.
