Description
The Martian – Ghostdancer is the sixth release on Red Planet, the Detroit sublabel of Underground Resistance. With titles such as "Ghostdancer", "Medicine Man", "The Vanishing Race" and "Windwalker", the 1995 double 12″ draws on Native American motifs and links them to the label's Mars mythology ("Marisian Probes Over Montana", "The Talking Rocks Of Mars"). The seven tracks move between house, techno and electro; Starchild contributed to "Starchild", and "Windwalker" received additional production by Suburban Knight. This copy is the 1995 US original issue (RP-6) in a plain sleeve (generic).

FAQ
Is this the original pressing?
Yes. This is the 1995 US original issue on Red Planet (RP-6) as a double 12″. In 2024 a remastered reissue came out as a single 12″ titled "RP-VI".
What do Media NM- and Cover Generic mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means almost like new, with at most minimal traces – the grade applies to both discs. Generic refers to a plain sleeve without its own artwork, which is not graded separately. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.
What is "Ghostdancer" about?
The titles refer to Native American history and spirituality – the Ghost Dance was a religious movement among Indigenous peoples of North America around 1890 – and combine this with the Mars science fiction that shapes every Red Planet record.
Where can I find more Detroit techno and electro?
