John Carpenter & Alan Howarth – Die Klapperschlange (Original Filmmusik) is the German edition of the soundtrack to John Carpenter's science fiction film Escape From New York (1981), released in Germany as Die Klapperschlange. Carpenter composed, arranged and performed the music together with Alan Howarth; sparse synthesizer motifs and pulsing sequences shape the film's atmosphere. The original came out in 1981 on Varèse Sarabande in the US; this LP on Celine Records (cat. no. CL 0004) was made under licence from them. This copy is the 1982 German pressing.
