Description

Speedy J – Ginger is the debut album by Rotterdam producer Jochem Paap and the sixth part of Warp’s "Artificial Intelligence" series, with which the label established electronic music for listening rather than just dancing in the early 1990s. Paap carried his minimal techno into the living room: 4/4 beats with plenty of space, ambient-like pads and short "Fill" interludes. "De-Orbit" had already appeared in 1992 on the first "Artificial Intelligence" compilation; the album reached number 68 in the UK album charts. This copy is the UK issue of 21 June 1993 on two vinyl LPs, Warp Records WARP LP14.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
This copy is the 1993 UK issue on Warp Records (WARP LP14) from the year of first release – not the 2023 reissue. The album also came out in 1993 on Plus 8 in Canada and on Beam Me Up! in the Netherlands.

What do the grades mean?
Both records and the cover are graded VG+ (Very Good Plus): light signs of use, overall in good shape. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Is the tracklist the same as the CD?
No. The Warp double LP has ten tracks; "Jackpot" and "Fill 15" are only on the CD.

Where can I find more records like this?
More titles are in our Techno and Ambient collections.
