The Bill Evans Trio – The Legendary Trio is a 5-LP box set on Fantasy (cat. no. 09 02 134), manufactured by Metronome in Germany. It collects the recordings of the trio with Bill Evans (piano), Scott LaFaro (bass) and Paul Motian (drums), widely regarded as one of the most influential piano trios in jazz: the studio albums "Portrait In Jazz" (recorded December 28, 1959) and "Explorations" (February 2, 1961) plus the live recordings from the Village Vanguard in New York on June 25, 1961, released as "Sunday At The Village Vanguard", "Waltz For Debby" and "More From The Vanguard". Only ten days after the Vanguard concerts LaFaro died in a car accident. This copy is the German box edition.
