Description

Bill Evans – You Must Believe In Spring is a trio album by pianist Bill Evans with Eddie Gómez on bass and Eliot Zigmund on drums. It was recorded on August 23–25, 1977 at Capitol Studios in Los Angeles, produced by Helen Keane and Tommy LiPuma. Warner Bros. only released it in February 1981, about five months after Evans died in September 1980. Besides Michel Legrand's title song it includes two dedications, to his late partner Ellaine and to his brother Harry, and the theme from M*A*S*H. This copy is the 1981 German original pressing (Warner Bros. WB 56 879).

FAQ

Is this Bill Evans' last studio recording?
No. The album was recorded in 1977 but only released in 1981, after his death. Later studio recordings such as Affinity had already come out before it.

Is this the original pressing?
Yes, this is the 1981 German first edition on Warner Bros., released the same year as the US edition.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal signs of use. VG (Very Good) for the sleeve means clear signs of wear, here mainly a torn-off sticker on the front. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Bill Evans records?
Yes, for example Bill Evans – At The Montreux Jazz Festival, New Conversations or Bill Evans & Jim Hall – Undercurrent. More titles are in our Jazz collection.
