Metallica – Reload is Metallica's seventh studio album, released on November 18, 1997 on Vertigo in Europe and Elektra in the US. Most of it was recorded alongside Load in 1995 and 1996 at The Plant Studios in Sausalito, with further guitars, overdubs and vocals added in 1997; it was produced by Bob Rock, James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. Marianne Faithfull sings on The Memory Remains, the first guest vocal on a Metallica studio album. It is the last studio album with bassist Jason Newsted and debuted at No. 1 in the US. This copy is the 1997 UK & European original pressing as a double LP in a gatefold sleeve with original inner sleeves.

Is this the original pressing?
Yes. This is the 1997 UK & European first edition on Vertigo with catalogue number 536 409-1, a double LP in a gatefold sleeve with inner sleeves. Later vinyl editions came out in 2001 and 2015.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?

How are Load and Reload connected?
The band originally planned a double album and split the material: Load came out in 1996, Reload with the remaining songs 17 months later. The Andres Serrano covers also belong together.
