Ash Ra Tempel - Inventions For Electric Guitar (Vinyl LP | DE Original | 1975)

Ash Ra Tempel – Inventions For Electric Guitar (also "Ash Ra Tempel VI") is essentially a Manuel Göttsching solo album: recorded in 1974 at Studio Roma in Berlin and released on Kosmische Musik in 1975. Its three long pieces are built from electric guitar and effects alone – a forerunner of Göttsching's later "E2-E4" and of the Berlin School. On offer is the 1975 German original pressing (KM 58.015).

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
Yes – this is the 1975 German first edition on Kosmische Musik. Later German repressings (from 1982) partly carry the same catalogue number. Our guide Krautrock rarities: how to spot original pressings explains how to tell them apart.

Were synthesizers used on this album?
According to the credits, Göttsching plays only guitar with effects. The floating, repeating patterns are created without synthesizers – which is exactly what makes the album so special for many collectors.

What does media NM- / cover VG+ mean?
NM- means the record is almost like new. VG+ for the cover means light signs of use. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.
