Beastie Boys on Vinyl

Beastie Boys were a New York band with Mike D, Ad-Rock and MCA that started out in 1981 as a hardcore punk band. With “Licensed To Ill” (1986) on Def Jam, they released the first rap album to reach number 1 on the US charts. With the sampling masterpiece “Paul's Boutique” (1989) and “Check Your Head” (1992), they combined hip-hop, punk and funk. After the death of MCA (Adam Yauch) in 2012, the band split up.
