Description

Bob Downes Open Music – Electric City is a 1970 album by British saxophonist and flautist Bob Downes, recorded at Philips Studios in London and released on the early “swirl” Vertigo label. It combines jazz, rock songs with vocals and freer, modal improvisation – played by a line-up from the British jazz and session scene, including Chris Spedding, Ray Russell, Ian Carr, Kenny Wheeler, Harry Beckett, Herbie Flowers and Clem Cattini. A typical document of the British jazz-rock crossover around 1970 and sought after by Vertigo collectors. On offer is the 1970 German original pressing in a gatefold sleeve.
