Description

Bob James – Touchdown is the sixth solo album by pianist and arranger Bob James, released on 20 July 1978 on his own label Tappan Zee Records (distributed by Columbia, cat. no. JC 35594). It was recorded in 1978 in New York at CBS Studios, Sound Mixers and A&R Studios, produced by James himself and engineered by Joe Jorgensen. The title refers to the six points of a touchdown in American football. The opener "Angela" became the theme of the TV series "Taxi", and the album reached No. 1 on the Billboard jazz chart. This copy is a US pressing with catalogue number JC 35594 in a gatefold sleeve, listed by us as a reissue.
