Can – Monster Movie (Vinyl LP | DE Repress | 1975)

Can – Monster Movie is Can's debut album, first released in 1969 as a private pressing of 500 copies on Music Factory and then issued by Liberty. It was recorded at Schloss Nörvenich with Malcolm Mooney on vocals; the entire B-side is taken up by the 20-minute-plus "Yoo Doo Right". On offer is the 1975 German repress on Liberty (LBS 83342 I), on which the band is still credited as "The Can".

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No – this is a 1975 German repress. The original came out in 1969 as a private pressing on Music Factory (SRS 001), followed shortly by the Liberty edition.

How do I recognise the 1975 repress?
The label rim reads "United Artists Records GmbH" instead of "Liberty/UA GmbH", and the side A matrix ends in "∆ 75".

What does Media VG+ / sleeve VG+ mean?
VG+ means record and sleeve show light signs of use; the record plays cleanly. More at Vinyl Grading.
