Description

City – Dreamland is the West German edition of City's English-language album, released in the GDR on Amiga as Dreamer. It is regarded as the first GDR production made specifically for the English-speaking market. It was recorded at Amiga-Studio Berlin and mixed by John Leckie at Hansa Tonstudios in West Berlin; producer and arranger was former Beach Boys manager Jack Rieley. The opener "Window" is the English version of City's hit "Am Fenster". This copy is the 1980 German pressing on Pool (cat. no. 6.24391), manufactured by Teldec.

FAQ

What is the difference between Dreamland and Dreamer?
It is the same English-language album. In the GDR it was released on Amiga as Dreamer, in the West on Pool as Dreamland.

Is "Window" the same song as "Am Fenster"?
Yes. "Window" is the English-language version of "Am Fenster", the band's best-known song, first released as a single in 1977.

What does Media VG+ / Cover VG+ mean?
Both record and sleeve are graded VG+ (Very Good Plus): light signs of use that barely affect playback or the overall impression. There is a tiny tear on the front of the sleeve. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more City records?
Yes, for example City – City (DE original 1978) and City – Am Fenster (2016 reissue, red vinyl). More titles are in our Rock collection.
