Curtis Mayfield - Roots (Vinyl LP | FR Original | 1971)

Curtis Mayfield – Roots is a 1971 solo album by the Chicago soul singer and songwriter, produced by Mayfield himself. Socially conscious lyrics as in “We Got To Have Peace” meet long, grooving arrangements – for example on the opener “Get Down” or “Beautiful Brother Of Mine”. On offer is the French original pressing from 1971 on Buddah Records (940 091).

In the US, “Roots” came out in 1971 on Mayfield's own label Curtom; in Europe, Buddah handled the release.
