Description

Depeche Mode – Black Celebration is the band's fifth studio album, released on Mute on 17 March 1986. It was recorded at Westside Studios in London and Hansa Studios in West Berlin and produced by Depeche Mode, Gareth Jones and Daniel Miller. All songs were written by Martin L. Gore; the singles were "Stripped", "A Question Of Lust" and "A Question Of Time". The album sounds darker and denser than its predecessors. This copy is a German pressing (Mute / Intercord INT 146.818, Stumm 26) on grey vinyl with embossed sleeve and original inner sleeve.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
It is a German pressing with the original catalogue number INT 146.818. Black Celebration was pressed several times in Germany under this number, on black and on grey vinyl; this copy is grey.

What does OIS mean?
OIS stands for Original Inner Sleeve. It is included but shows wear and a seam split.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal signs of wear. VG+ (Very Good Plus) means the sleeve shows light signs of wear. Here it is shelf wear on the embossed sleeve. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Depeche Mode records?
Yes, for example Depeche Mode – Stripped (Highland Mix, 12"), Depeche Mode – A Question Of Time (New Town Mix, 12") or Depeche Mode – Black Celebration (Reissue 2025). More titles are in our Synth-Pop collection.
