Dinosaur - Dinosaur (Vinyl LP | US Reissue | 1988)

Dinosaur – Dinosaur is the first album by J Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph, the band that shortly afterwards renamed itself Dinosaur Jr. Released in 1985 on Homestead Records, it mixes hardcore energy with distorted guitars and off-kilter melodies – the starting point for one of the defining indie rock sounds of the late 80s. On offer is a 1988 US repress on Homestead (HMS015).

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No – this is a 1988 US repress with the same catalogue number HMS015. The first edition came out in 1985.

Is “Bulbs Of Passion” on this edition?
No. “Bulbs Of Passion” appeared in 1985 as the B-side of the “Repulsion” single and was only added on later reissues of the album. This LP contains the ten original tracks.

What does Media NM- / Sleeve VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal traces. VG+ (Very Good Plus) for the sleeve means light signs of use, overall in good shape. More on our Vinyl Grading page.
