Description

E-Dancer – Velocity Funk is a Detroit techno classic by Kevin Saunderson, one of the "Belleville Three" alongside Juan Atkins and Derrick May, who also scored pop hits with Inner City. As E-Dancer he shows his driving club side: "Velocity Funk" first came out in 1997 on his own label KMS, with "World Of Deep" on the flip. In 2004 KMS reissued it in its Classic series, with Saunderson's signature on the label. This copy is that 2004 US reissue, cat. no. KMS-061, in a plain sleeve.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No, it is the 2004 reissue from the KMS Classic series. The first issue with the same catalogue number came out in 1997; the reissue can be identified by the printed signature "Kevin Maurice Saunderson" on the label.

What do Media NM- and generic sleeve mean?
The record is graded NM- (Near Mint minus), i.e. close to new. "Generic sleeve" means a plain sleeve without artwork; it does not get a grade of its own. More on our Vinyl Grading page.

Who is E-Dancer?
E-Dancer is an alias of Kevin Saunderson, one of the founding fathers of Detroit techno. KMS stands for his full name, Kevin Maurice Saunderson.

Where can I find more techno?
In our Techno and 12″ Maxi Singles collections.
