Description

Elvis Presley – A Legendary Performer Volume 2 is the second instalment of RCA's archival series "A Legendary Performer", released on January 8, 1976 (cat. no. CPL 1-1349). The compilation mixes well-known hits with previously unreleased material: it opens with "Harbor Lights" from Presley's first Sun session in July 1954, and adds an alternate take of "I Want You, I Need You, I Love You", live recordings from the 1968 NBC TV special and from "Aloha From Hawaii" (1973), and a 1956 interview. This copy is a 1976 German original pressing in the light blue jacket without die-cut, with inner sleeve and booklet.

FAQ

What is the "A Legendary Performer" series?
RCA launched the series in 1974 to release well-known recordings alongside unreleased takes, live recordings and interviews. Volume 2 came out in 1976; with "Harbor Lights" RCA issued previously unknown Sun material for the first time since 1965.

Why does this jacket have no die-cut?
The first edition had a jacket with a die-cut window showing a photo on the inner sleeve. Later editions were issued without the die-cut; this copy is one of those, in the light blue jacket.

What does Media VG+ / Cover VG+ mean?
Both record and sleeve are graded VG+. VG+ (Very Good Plus) means light signs of use that barely affect playback or the overall impression. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Elvis Presley records?
Yes, for example Elvis – A Legendary Performer Volume 1 and A Legendary Performer Volume 4. More titles are in our Beat & Rock & Roll collection.
