Description

Emergency – Get Out To The Country was released in 1973 on the Brain label and recorded in summer 1973 at Studio 70 in Munich. The band around singer Peter Bischof, guitarist Richard Palmer-James and saxophonist Hanus Berka blends rock with horns, organ and Mellotron; the highlight is the twelve-minute title track. Early Brain originals are sought after by krautrock collectors – on offer is the German original pressing (Brain 1037) in a gatefold sleeve.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
Yes – it is the German edition from the year of release, 1973, on Brain with catalogue number 1037 in a gatefold sleeve. Check label and sleeve in the scans.

How can I recognise early krautrock originals?
Label colour, logo, catalogue number and the matrix in the run-out all give clues. Read our guide Krautrock rarities: how to spot original pressings.

What does Media VG+ / sleeve VG mean?
VG+ (Very Good plus) means the record shows light signs of use that barely affect listening. VG (Very Good) for the sleeve means more noticeable wear on an intact sleeve. More in our vinyl grading guide.
