Description

Eugen Cicero – Rokoko-Jazz is an album by Romanian-born pianist Eugen Cicero, recorded on March 14, 1965 and first released the same year. In a trio with Peter Witte (bass) and Charly Antolini (drums), Cicero turns works by C. P. E. Bach, Scarlatti, Couperin, Mozart and J. S. Bach into swinging jazz; it was produced by Willi Fruth and Hans Georg Brunner-Schwer, with liner notes by Joachim-Ernst Berendt. This copy is a German reissue on MPS/BASF (cat. no. CRM 604).

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No. The album was first released in 1965. This copy is a later German reissue on MPS/BASF with catalogue number CRM 604.

What is Rokoko-Jazz?
Cicero takes pieces from the Baroque and Rococo periods, first plays the themes close to the original and then improvises on them with his jazz trio.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) for the record means close to new with at most minimal signs of use. VG+ (Very Good Plus) for the sleeve means light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Eugen Cicero records?
At the moment this is our only Eugen Cicero album. More piano jazz is in our Jazz collection, classical music in our Classical collection.
