Description

Herbert Grönemeyer – 4630 Bochum is Herbert Grönemeyer's fifth studio album and his first for EMI (cat. no. 1C 066 1469051). It was recorded from January to March 1984 at EMI's studios in Cologne, produced by Grönemeyer with Gaggy Mrotzek and Norbert Hamm as co-producers; the LP came out in May 1984. With "Männer", "Flugzeuge im Bauch" and "Alkohol" it became his breakthrough: the album went to No. 1 in Germany, was the country's best-selling album of 1984 and remains one of the best-selling albums in Germany. This copy is the 1984 German original pressing with inner sleeve.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
Yes. This is the 1984 German first edition on EMI with catalogue number 1C 066 1469051, not one of the club editions or later reissues.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
Record: NM- (Near Mint minus) means close to new with at most minimal signs of use. Sleeve: VG+ (Very Good Plus) means light signs of use that barely affect playback or the overall impression. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Why is the album called "4630 Bochum"?
4630 was the postcode of Bochum until five-digit postcodes were introduced in Germany in 1993. Grönemeyer grew up there and dedicated the opening song to the city.

Do you have more Herbert Grönemeyer records?
Yes, for example Gemischte Gefühle (DE original 1983), Sprünge (1986) or the 4630 Bochum picture disc. More titles are in our Pop Rock collection.
