Description

Hugh Masekela – Tomorrow is an album by South African trumpeter, flugelhorn player and singer Hugh Masekela, released on WEA in 1987 (254 573-1). It was recorded between January and September 1986 in several London studios, including Trident, with his band Kalahari. Don Freeman and Geoff Haslam produced, and Masekela co-wrote the songs with his musicians. The best-known track is the opener Bring Him Back Home, which became an anthem of the campaign to free Nelson Mandela. Masekela was living in exile at the time. This copy is the European original pressing.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
Yes. This is the 1987 European first edition on WEA with catalogue number 254 573-1.

What is Bring Him Back Home about?
The song calls for the release of Nelson Mandela, imprisoned since 1962. It was banned in South Africa on release, became an unofficial anthem of the anti-apartheid movement and later one of Masekela's most performed live songs.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new. VG+ (Very Good Plus) means the sleeve shows light wear, here a small spot on the front where a sticker was torn off. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Hugh Masekela records?
Yes, for example Hugh Masekela – Melody Maker. More titles are in our Jazz collection.
