Description

John Coltrane With The Red Garland Trio – Traneing In was recorded on August 23, 1957 at Van Gelder Studio in Hackensack, produced by Bob Weinstock with Rudy Van Gelder as engineer. It first came out in 1958 on Prestige (PRLP 7123) as "John Coltrane With The Red Garland Trio" and was reissued in 1961 as "Traneing In". Coltrane plays with the rhythm section of the Miles Davis Quintet of the time; the twelve-minute title track is a blues, alongside two ballads and Irving Berlin's "Soft Lights And Sweet Music". This copy is a 1985 US reissue (Prestige 7123).
