Description

Kraftwerk – The Mix was released in June 1991 and contains completely rearranged and re-recorded versions of pieces from “Autobahn” (1974) to “Electric Café” (1986), made at Kling Klang Studio in Düsseldorf. It reached No. 7 in Germany and No. 15 in the UK. On offer is the 1991 German original double LP on Kling Klang / Electrola in the German-language version – with “Die Roboter”, “Computerliebe” and “Taschenrechner” instead of the English titles.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
Yes. It is the 1991 German first edition on Kling Klang / Electrola (cat. no. 1C 164-7 96650 1); the label reads “Klingklang Produkt 1991”.

Is this the German or the English version?
The German one: here the tracks are called “Die Roboter”, “Computerliebe”, “Taschenrechner”, “Radioaktivität”, “Metall Auf Metall”, “Heimcomputer” and “Musik Non Stop”. An English version was released internationally at the same time, e.g. on Elektra.

Is “The Mix” a best-of?
Not in the usual sense: the pieces were digitally rearranged and re-recorded, some – such as “Die Roboter” and “Radioaktivität” – with new melodies or lyrics.

What does Media VG+ / Sleeve VG+ mean?
Records and sleeve show only light wear. More at Vinyl Grading. More records are in our Electronic and Krautrock collections.
