Description

Metallica – Kill 'Em All is Metallica's debut album, released on July 25, 1983 on Megaforce Records. It was recorded from May 10 to 27, 1983 at Music America Studios in Rochester, New York, produced by Paul Curcio with Megaforce founder Jon Zazula as executive producer. Four songs date from the time with Dave Mustaine, who was replaced by Kirk Hammett shortly before the sessions; the album is regarded as one of the first thrash metal albums. This copy is a 1989 European reissue on Vertigo (838 142-1) with the original inner sleeve.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No. The first edition came out in 1983 on Megaforce in the US and on Music for Nations in Europe. This copy is a 1989 European reissue on Vertigo, the label Metallica had by then signed to in Europe.

What does Media VG+ / Cover VG+ mean?
VG+ (Very Good Plus) means, for both record and sleeve, light signs of use that hardly affect the overall impression. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Why is Dave Mustaine in the credits?
Mustaine was Metallica's lead guitarist until spring 1983 and co-wrote The Four Horsemen, Jump In The Fire, Phantom Lord and Metal Militia. Shortly afterwards he formed Megadeth.

Do you have more Metallica records?
Yes, for example Metallica – Kill 'Em All as a 2016 remaster and Metallica – Ride The Lightning. More titles are in our Metal collection.
