Description

Michel Colombier – Old Fool Back On Earth is a double album by French composer, arranger and conductor Michel Colombier (1939–2004), released in 1983 on Columbia (cat. no. C2X 38211). It was produced by Denny Diante and Colombier himself, with George Butler as executive producer. Colombier combines the London Symphony Orchestra with a Los Angeles studio band around Abraham Laboriel, Chester Thompson, Paulinho Da Costa and saxophonist Ernie Watts, while different singers take on roles such as "The Old Fool", "The Fairy" or "The Woman". The result mixes orchestral music, jazz-rock and pop and follows a story more than a song album; side C holds the three-part suite "Nightbird". The cover art is by Jean-Michel Folon. This copy is the 1983 US original pressing with the original inner sleeves.
