Description
Music Revelation Ensemble – No Wave is the first album by the Music Revelation Ensemble led by guitarist James Blood Ulmer, released in 1980 on the Moers Music label (cat. no. 01072). It was recorded in June 1980 at Studio 57 in Düsseldorf and produced by Burkhard Hennen. Alongside Ulmer play David Murray (tenor saxophone, also bass clarinet on Time Table), Amin Ali (electric bass) and Ronald Shannon Jackson (drums). The four pieces were written by Ulmer and combine free jazz with angular funk and rock rhythms in the spirit of Ornette Coleman's harmolodics. This copy is the 1980 German original pressing.
