Description

Neu! – Neu! '75 is the third studio album by the Düsseldorf duo Michael Rother and Klaus Dinger, released in February 1975 on Brain. Produced by Conny Plank and Neu!, it has two faces: Rother and Dinger recorded side A as a duo with floating, calm pieces, while on side B Thomas Dinger and Hans Lampe join on drums – including the raw "Hero", often described as proto-punk. The album is regarded as a key work of krautrock and later influenced post-punk and new wave. This copy is the German reissue from 1977 on Brain (1062 / 0001 062) in a gatefold sleeve.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No – it is a German reissue from 1977 on Brain. The first issue came out in February 1975. Our krautrock guide explains how to spot Brain originals.

Why do the two sides sound so different?
Rother and Dinger had different ideas: side A carries Rother's calmer, more spacious signature, side B with two drummers shows Dinger's rawer, rockier side – Klaus Dinger sings "Hero" himself.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal signs of use. VG (Very Good) for the sleeve means clear signs of wear – here also a small spot on the back where a sticker was torn off. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.
