Description
Ornette Coleman – Change Of The Century is alto saxophonist Ornette Coleman's second Atlantic album, recorded on 8 and 9 October 1959 with Don Cherry (pocket trumpet), Charlie Haden (bass) and Billy Higgins (drums). The session was supervised by Nesuhi Ertegun and engineered by Bones Howe; the album was released in 1960. All seven pieces are by Coleman, who, as on "The Shape Of Jazz To Come", has the quartet improvise without piano and without fixed chord changes. This copy is a 1960 Danish original pressing on Atlantic, manufactured by Metronome (cat. no. 1327).
