Pet Shop Boys - Always On My Mind (Vinyl 7" | EU Original | 1987)

Pet Shop Boys – Always On My Mind is the Pet Shop Boys' single version of the song by Wayne Carson, Johnny Christopher and Mark James, previously recorded by Elvis Presley and Willie Nelson among others. The duo first performed it in 1987 on the ITV programme "Love Me Tender", marking the tenth anniversary of Elvis's death; the single was released on 30 November 1987 on Parlophone, produced by Julian Mendelsohn and the Pet Shop Boys. It spent four weeks at No. 1 in the UK, became the Christmas number one there and also reached No. 1 in West Germany. Neither side is on the album "Actually"; a reworked version appeared on "Introspective" in 1988. This copy is the European original 7-inch single (Parlophone 006 20 2274 7).
