Description

Sagmeister Trio – Ganshy is the second album by the trio led by guitarist Michael Sagmeister, released in 1980 on Mood Records (cat. no. 23777) and distributed exclusively through Zweitausendeins. It was recorded and mixed in March and April 1980 at Tonstudio Zuckerfabrik in Stuttgart, mastered at Bauer in Ludwigsburg, and produced by the trio. FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
Yes. This is the 1980 German first edition on Mood Records (23777) with black inner sleeve. A reissue followed in 1982; in 2001 both trio albums were released together on CD.

How does Ganshy differ from the debut?
On Ganshy percussionist Mick Thierfelder joins the trio, and alongside Sagmeister's compositions there is a cover, Sugar, and a piece by bassist Udo Kistner.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) for the record means close to new with at most minimal signs of use. VG+ (Very Good Plus) for the sleeve means light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Sagmeister Trio records?
Yes, for example Sagmeister Trio – Sagmeister Trio (1978). More titles are in our Jazz collection.
