Sting - Russians (Vinyl 12" | DE Original | 1985)

Sting – Russians was released in 1985 as a single from his first solo album The Dream Of The Blue Turtles and is one of the most haunting pop songs of the Cold War. The melody borrows a theme from Sergei Prokofiev's “Lieutenant Kijé” suite, while the lyrics reflect on the nuclear arms race. The B-side features “Gabriel's Message”, a track not available on any album, plus “I Burn For You (Live)”.

On offer is the German original pressing from 1985 on A&M Records (392 062-1 / 392 061-1) as a 12" maxi-single.
