The Pogues - Red Roses For Me (Vinyl LP | IT Reissue | 1986)

The Pogues – Red Roses For Me is the Pogues' debut, first released in 1984, on which Irish folk collides head-on with punk energy. Shane MacGowan's ragged voice carries originals like "Transmetropolitan", "Streams Of Whiskey" and "Boys From The County Hell" as well as traditionals such as "The Auld Triangle" and "Waxie's Dargle". The starting shot for Celtic punk.

On offer is the 1986 Italian reissue on Stiff Records (STLP/1024).
