Description

The Untouchables – Wild Child is the first studio album by Los Angeles mod and ska band The Untouchables, released in 1985 on Stiff Records (cat. no. SEEZ 57). Most of it was produced by Stewart Levine; the cover of "I Spy (For the FBI)" (originally by Jamo Thomas) was recorded in London with The Specials' Jerry Dammers producing. The band wanted to move away from a purely ska sound and mixes ska and rocksteady with soul and funk. The album reached No. 51 in the UK charts, and "Piece of Your Love" was the first single. This copy is the 1985 German original pressing in a die-cut sleeve with the original inner sleeve.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
Yes. It is the 1985 German first pressing on Stiff Records, cat. no. SEEZ 57, released in the same year as the UK edition.

What is a die-cut sleeve?
A die-cut sleeve has a section punched out so that the printed inner sleeve shows through. That is why the original inner sleeve is part of the complete look here.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) for the record means close to new with at most minimal signs of play. VG+ for the sleeve means light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more records by The Untouchables?
Not at the moment. More ska, reggae and dub records are in our Reggae, Ska & Dub collection, soul and funk in the Soul & Funk collection.
