Triston Palma – Show Case (In A Roots Radics Drum And Bass) (Vinyl LP)

Triston Palma – Show Case (In A Roots Radics Drum And Bass) is a showcase album by Kingston singer Triston Palma, produced by Nkrumah “Jah” Thomas and first released in Jamaica in 1982 on his Midnight Rock label (cat. no. MRLP 90000). Each of the six songs runs straight into its dub version, played by the Roots Radics with Flabba Holt and Style Scott. The rhythms were laid at Channel One, with voicing and mixing there and at King Tubby's, with engineers including King Tubby and Scientist. Palma also had his biggest hit, “Entertainment”, with Jah Thomas. This copy is a French pressing on Vista Sounds; its exact release year is not confirmed.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No. The album was first released in Jamaica in 1982 on Midnight Rock. This copy is a French pressing on Vista Sounds with the same catalogue number MRLP 90000; it is not dated exactly, but 1983/84 is likely.

What is a showcase album?
On a showcase, each vocal track is followed without a break by its dub version. Hence subtitles like “Drum And Bass To Your Face”.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal signs of play. VG (Very Good) means the sleeve shows clear signs of wear but is complete. WOC means “writing on cover”, here a small pen mark on the back; there is also a small tear on the front. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Triston Palma records?
