Description
UB40 – Signing Off is the debut album by Birmingham reggae band UB40, released on August 29, 1980 on the independent Dudley label Graduate Records. Most of it was recorded with producer Bob Lamb in his flat in Moseley; the three tracks on the bonus 12", including the almost 13-minute "Madam Medusa", were cut at The Music Centre in Wembley with Ray "Pablo" Falconer. The title refers to the "UB40" unemployment benefit card shown on the cover. The album reached No. 2 in the UK charts. This copy is the 1980 Italian original edition (Graduate UB-1) with LP, bonus 12" and printed original inner sleeves.

FAQ
Is this the original pressing?
Yes, it is the 1980 Italian first edition, made by Ariston and distributed by Ricordi, with catalogue number UB-1. The labels misspell the title as "Signing Of".
What is on the bonus 12"?
The 45 RPM maxi holds "Strange Fruit" (known from Billie Holiday), "Reefer Madness" and the long dub track "Madam Medusa".
What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
Media (record): NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal signs of play. Sleeve: VG+ (Very Good Plus) means light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.
Do you have more UB40 records?
Yes, for example UB40 – UB44 (DE original 1982), UB40 – Live (EU original 1983) and UB40 – Baggariddim (LP + 12"). Another copy is UB40 – Signing Off (Vinyl LP).
