Description

Vivian Weathers – Bad Weathers is a roots reggae album released in 1978 on Front Line, the reggae imprint of Virgin Records (cat. no. FL1025). Vivian Weathers wrote almost all the songs, sang and played percussion, and produced and mixed the record with John Varnom, who also played lead guitar. Front Line issued records by Culture and U-Roy, among others, at the time; Bad Weathers, by contrast, stayed a little-known album and was not reissued until 2023. This copy is a 1978 UK original pressing.

FAQ

What was Front Line?
Front Line was Virgin Records' reggae label in the late 1970s, home to albums by artists such as Culture, U-Roy and the Twinkle Brothers.

Is this the original pressing?
Yes. This is the 1978 UK first edition with catalogue number FL1025. It was not reissued until 2023.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal signs of play. VG (Very Good) means the sleeve shows clear wear, here a torn-off sticker on the back. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Vivian Weathers records?
This is currently our only Vivian Weathers record. From Virgin's catalogue of the era we have, for example, U-Roy – Natty Rebel. More titles are in our Reggae, Ska & Dub collection.
