Description

Yello – Stella is the fourth studio album by Swiss electronic duo Yello, released in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on January 29, 1985 on Vertigo. Boris Blank and Dieter Meier recorded it between mid-1983 and mid-1984 at their own Yello Studio in Zürich and produced it themselves. With "Desire", "Vicious Games" and "Oh Yeah", later made famous by films such as Ferris Bueller's Day Off, it was their commercial breakthrough: No. 1 in Switzerland, No. 6 and gold in Germany. This copy is the 1985 German pressing with inner sleeve.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
Yes, it is a German Vertigo pressing from the year of release, 1985. The album came out first in the German-speaking countries; the UK and US followed in March 1985.

What about "Koladi-ola (Low Blow)"?
The LP back cover lists the track as "Koladi-ola (Low Blow)"; the subtitle is missing from the label and later CD editions. It is also the only song on which Boris Blank sings lead.

What does Media VG+ / Cover VG+ mean?
Both record and sleeve are graded VG+. VG+ (Very Good Plus) means light signs of use that barely affect playback or the overall impression. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Yello records?
Yes, for example Yello – One Second (DE 1987), Flag, Point and the single Vicious Games.
