Description

Alphonse Mouzon – Step Into The Funk is the German edition of the album released in the US in 1982 as Distant Lover on Highrise; Metronome issued it in Germany under the name of its closing track (cat. no. 0060.507). Mouzon, the drummer in the early line-up of Weather Report, wrote, arranged and produced all eight songs himself, and besides drums he plays keyboards and sings. Guests include Herbie Hancock, Lee Ritenour and Michael Brecker on The Lady In Red, and Stanley Clarke on bass on the title track. This copy is the original 1982 German pressing.

FAQ

Is Step Into The Funk the same album as Distant Lover?
Yes. The songs and running order match the 1982 US edition Distant Lover; Metronome released the record in Germany under a different title.

Is this the original pressing?
Yes. It is the original 1982 German issue on Metronome with catalogue number 0060.507.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means close to new with at most minimal signs of use. VG (Very Good) means clear but not severe signs of use. Here the sleeve shows shelf wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Alphonse Mouzon records?
Yes, for example Alphonse Mouzon – The Man Incognito, Alphonse Mouzon – Mind Transplant and Mouzon's Electric Band – Baby Come Back. More titles are in our Soul & Funk collection.
