Beastie Boys - Some Old Bullshit (Vinyl LP | White 180g | RSD | 2020)

Beastie Boys – Some Old Bullshit is a compilation of the Beastie Boys’ earliest recordings, from the time when the New York band still played hardcore punk. Side A holds the Polly Wog Stew EP (1982 on Rat Cage, recorded in winter 1981 at 171-A Studios) plus two radio recordings from Tim Sommer’s show “Noise The Show”; side B has the Cooky Puss single, recorded in 1983, with its B-sides. The compilation first came out in 1994 on Grand Royal/Capitol. This copy is the limited 2020 Record Store Day edition on white 180g vinyl (Grand Royal GR 003).

FAQ

Is this a hip hop album?
Mostly not. The Polly Wog Stew tracks are fast hardcore punk. “Cooky Puss”, built around a prank phone call, and “Beastie Revolution” show the first steps towards hip hop in 1983.

Is this the original release?
No. The compilation first appeared in 1994. This is the limited 2020 Record Store Day reissue on white 180g vinyl. This is the first time these recordings were collected on one LP.

What does “New & factory sealed” mean?
The record is unplayed and still in the manufacturer’s original shrink wrap. We do not open it, so there is no separate grading of record and sleeve. Our grading system for used records is explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Beastie Boys records?
Yes, for example Beastie Boys – Licensed To Ill (EU original 1986), Beastie Boys – Paul's Boutique (2LP, 30th Anniversary) and Beastie Boys – Hello Nasty (2LP). More titles are in our Hip Hop & Rap collection.
