Description
Brian Eno – Ambient 1 (Music For Airports) is the album with which Brian Eno coined the term “ambient”. The idea came to him during a stopover at Cologne/Bonn airport; the music is built from tape loops of different lengths, recorded in 1978 in London and at Conny Plank’s studio near Cologne. This is a 1982 US reissue on Editions EG – still factory sealed, with a cut-out on the sleeve.

FAQ
Is this the original pressing?
No. This is a 1982 US reissue on Editions EG; the first edition came out in 1978/79.
Is the record really unplayed?
Yes. It is still in its original 1980s shrink wrap. The cut-out (a small mark on the sleeve) was made by retailers at the time to flag remaindered stock.
What does the album have to do with Bonn?
Eno came up with the idea for “Music For Airports” after a stopover at Cologne/Bonn airport – the music was meant to calm travellers rather than annoy them.
Do you have more ambient and electronic music?
