Camp Lo - Uptown Saturday Night (Transparent Blue Vinyl 2LP | EU Reissue | 2025)

Camp Lo – Uptown Saturday Night is the debut album by Bronx duo Sonny Cheeba and Geechi Suede. It was released on January 28, 1997 on Profile Records and named after the 1974 film starring Sidney Poitier and Bill Cosby. Nearly all beats are by Ski (Ski Beatz) with Joe Chink, built on 70s soul and jazz samples, and the lyrics are packed with slang and references to blaxploitation films; the single "Luchini AKA This Is It" became its best-known track. Guests include Trugoy of De La Soul and Butterfly of Digable Planets. This copy is the 2025 European reissue on Music On Vinyl (MOVLP3924): 180g translucent blue vinyl, limited to 2,000 numbered copies.
