Description

George Duke – The Inner Source is a double album by keyboardist George Duke on MPS Records, first released in 1973 (cat. no. 29 20912-1). It was recorded in 1971 at Wally Heider Studios in San Francisco and produced by Baldhard G. Falk; the two LPs were originally planned as separate albums, "Solus" and "The Inner Source". Duke plays piano, Rhodes and other keyboards, partly in a trio with John Heard and Dick Berk, partly with horn players such as Jerome Richardson and Luis Gasca. This copy is the 1976 German reissue from the MPS "Encore!" series (cat. no. 22 22725-1) with a different cover, in a gatefold sleeve.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No. The first edition came out in 1973 as MPS 29 20912-1. This copy is the 1976 German reissue from the "Encore!" series with a new catalogue number and a different cover; the music is the same.

Why is it a double album?
The 1971 recordings were originally meant for two separate LPs ("Solus" and "The Inner Source"). MPS released them together as a double album in 1973.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) for the record means close to new with at most minimal signs of use. VG+ (Very Good Plus) for the sleeve means light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more George Duke records?
Yes, for example the first edition George Duke – The Inner Source (German original 1973), George Duke – Faces In Reflection or George Duke – Feel. More titles are in our Fusion collection.
