Description

Joe Farrell – Farrell's Inferno is a live album by saxophonist and flautist Joe Farrell, recorded at Pasquale's in Malibu, California, and released in 1980 as Vol. 4 of the Jazz A La Carte series. It was produced by vibraphonist Terry Gibbs. Farrell plays tenor and soprano saxophone and flute in a quartet with Victor Feldman on piano, Bob Magnusson on bass and John Guerin on drums. Alongside standards such as Autumn Leaves, Invitation and Flamingo, the set includes Moon Germs, one of his own compositions from his CTI years. In the 1970s Farrell was a member of Chick Corea's Return To Forever, among other groups. This copy is the North American original edition in a gatefold sleeve.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
Yes. The album first appeared on vinyl in 1980 in the Jazz A La Carte series for the US and Canadian market. A digital reissue titled Inferno (Live) only followed decades later.

Is this a studio or a live album?
A live album: it was recorded at the jazz club Pasquale's in Malibu. We could not determine an exact recording date.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal signs of play. VG+ (Very Good Plus) means the sleeve shows light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Joe Farrell records?
Yes, for example Joe Farrell – Canned Funk and Joe Farrell – Outback. More titles are in our Jazz collection.
